Publication Ethics

To ensure high-quality scientific publications, foster researchers' confidence in results, and provide recognition for authors' contributions, adherence to ethical publishing standards is essential. The Journal of Physiology and Biological Sciences (JPBS) expects authors to comply with the following core guidelines:

Article Assessment

All submissions are initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and/or a designated Associate Editor. Manuscripts may be rejected without peer review if deemed insufficiently high in quality or outside the journal's scope. This process allows for quicker decisions for authors. Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are sent to at least two anonymous reviewers. Decisions are made based on the reviewers' recommendations and the judgment of the editorial team. Authors are then required to revise their manuscripts according to feedback received, and a final proof is returned for approval. Submissions from the Editor-in-Chief or editorial board members are evaluated impartially by a neutral board member to ensure objectivity. In cases of unresolved disputes, the matter may be referred to the authors' institutions or funding agencies for resolution.

Duplicate Publication

JPBS only accepts original work that has not been previously published. Manuscripts must not be submitted to other journals while under consideration. The journal reserves the right to reject any manuscript suspected of plagiarism at any stage, and articles found to violate these guidelines may be retracted.

Animal Ethics and Welfare

Authors must comply with international ethical guidelines for animal research, as well as legal and institutional requirements. The manuscript should include the name of the approving body and reference number for animal ethics approval. For research involving cell lines, authors should state the origin of the lines used.

Authorship and Acknowledgements

All listed authors must have made significant contributions to the manuscript and agree with its content. Individuals who contributed but are not authors should be acknowledged with their permission. Submissions from non-authors will not be accepted.

Plagiarism

Authors must properly attribute all sources, including words, figures, and ideas. Reuse of text should be limited and appropriately quoted. All submissions undergo initial screening through advanced plagiarism detection software (CrossCheck by iThenticate). Manuscripts with inappropriate similarity content will be rejected.

Journal of Physiology and Biological Sciences (JPBS) will impose penalties for violations of publishing ethics, which may include rejection of the manuscript and any other submissions by the authors, a ban on submissions for 1-4 years, or disqualification from editorial or review roles.
